Class etiquette

Arrive 15-20 min early to change and warm up.  Classes start on time.

Remove all jewellery both for safety and to ensure it does not get broken

As this is a contact art, ensure you and your gi are clean.  Use deodorant as appropriate and avoid perfumes.

Be respectful of other participants.

Communicate with your training partner, both verbally and physically.  We use “tapping” to indicate that you should stop applying pressure.  This allows the person doing the technique to know when they have locked up their partner.  It also allows the person receiving the technique to communicate a lock has gone as far as it can go to prevent injury.
